I get an email alert from CL and today there were a few interesting finds. First we have this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
it caught my attention becuase a friend had a regular Golf in that body style. Then I saw RWD??? That is followed by this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
There is something about ‘illest’ stickers that makes me want to remove them with an angle grinder. And to make up for that i give you this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Well, at least the wheel stagger matches the supposed drivetrain layout in the Jetta’s case.
Also, why is there a Toyota badge attached to its towhook?

Rwd Golf? Haha good one. I have to admit that I like Mk4 Golfs and Jettas and stance but not the typical VwVortex bros and fams.

weren;’t the R32's AWD? could you take that and remove the front driveshafts?

Afaik they had a Haldex clutch awd system. I don’t know if you could remove the driveshafts but someone probably has already tried. But the normal 4motion Golfs had a different awd system but I have absolutely no idea so I could be completely wrong.

It amazing me how many people put the wrong drive wheels and/or wrong transmission in their ad. It’s amazing how many vehicles that only ever came in FWD/auto are listed as RWD/manual.

i was wondering if it has a modified AWD system. FSI said there were 2 different systems offered. I dont know if its possible but I was wondering if it was 4motion with the front shafts removed.

If the rear didn’t have so much negative rear camber, I’d be all over that GLI

overall its not a bad looking car. I wouldn’t want the camber or the stretch.

I guarantee it’s just mis-listed. I’m constantly seeing vehicles like stock W-body Impalas that are listed as RWD/manual.

Here’s a “questionably” modded Maxima listed as RWD
http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/571568…
A bone stock Mark VIII listed as having a manual trans.

And a ‘99 Deville, FWD/auto, listed of course as RWD/manual.

There were others. People never cease to amaze.

i wonder if any of these people listing these actually think thats what it is. Manual is pretty hard to mess up but i could easily seeing someone being that clueless about thier car to think thier sporty Maxima or luxury Caddy is RWD

I think more often than not that’s the case. People are dumb.
